The Society was founded in September 1991 by a small group of enthusiasts and has now grown to approx thirty members of all ages and abilities.

The aim of the Society is:
- To promote the art of bonsai.

Generate enthusiasm and a greater knowledge of
bonsai among its members.
To
assist in this aim:
- We hold monthly meetings in a friendly and informal atmosphere.
- Particular attention is given to helping beginners to understand and enjoy the art of bonsai.
- The society plan a series of workshops, guest speakers and demonstrations, throughout the year. During the workshops, members are encouraged to work on their own trees, trying new ideas, styles and techniques. We exchange ideas and learn from each others experiences.
